由于工作和家庭问题一团糟，罗伊·所罗门（迪兰·麦克德莫特 Dylan McDermott饰）和妻子丹妮丝（佩内洛普·安·米勒 Penelope Ann Miller饰）带着正处在青春躁动期的女儿杰西（克里斯汀·斯图尔特 Kristen Stewart饰）和小儿子本（伊万·特纳 Evan Turner 饰），从熙熙攘攘的大都会芝加哥来到了荒凉的北达科他州。他们在当地购买了一座名为“向日葵”的废弃农场，打算在这里展开新的人生。 然而，美好的憧憬往往为残酷的现实所打破。在农场修缮过程中，诡异的事件不断出现，杰西和弟弟仿佛也能看见一些成人看不到的东西。阴森的气氛压得这家人几乎透不过气来，但真正恐怖的事情还远远不止于此……

本片由迪士尼电视动画部门所制作，由【美女与野兽】明星所主演短篇故事串联而成，故事则是发生在Belle在魔堡中与野兽相处的那段时间，其实本片在１９９８年首度推出时，片名只有【Belle’sMagicalWorld】，而且只有三个段落；到了２００３年推出特别版时，英文片名才改为【BeautyandtheBeast:Belle’sMagicalWorld】，并且将另一部原本收录在其他地方的短篇「茶煲太太的派对」（Mrs’Pott’sParty）也收进本片当中。本片的第一段「完美的世界」是叙述Belle和野兽吵架，一个字典仆人想帮忙却愈帮愈忙；第二段「真爱的试炼」则是蜡烛台Lumiere和鸡毛撢子女友Fify之间的一场误会；第三段是新加入的「茶煲太太的派对」，大家秘密要帮辛劳的Mrs.Pott办个派对；第四段「折翼鸟」则是关于一只翅膀受伤的小鸟，野兽喜欢听它的歌声，居然想把它关在笼中留在身边。本片虽然分成几个短篇故事，但故事重心都在人与人之间相处所该有的设身处地以及相互体谅。
