故事讲述一名精明能干的FBI特工Audrey Parker (Emily Rose 扮演)因执行公差来到缅因州(美国东北角的州)一所名为“Haven”的小镇上，来到小镇不久自己惊奇发现这个小镇被一种神秘的力量保护着使得这里人们把这里当成避难所并且他们也受到一种超自然力量的影响，当又惊奇的发现当地的市民用一种类似睡眠的能力来传递信息后，Audrey开始调查此事并发现一些关于“Haven”小镇地惊人秘密：这包括环绕在她周围一种与这个不同寻常的小镇的联系，另外能帮助Audrey只有当地警官Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant 扮演)并且最终成为Audrey的搭档和一个神秘而又富有魅力名叫Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour扮演)。
